Obituary of James McIntyre

James E. McIntyre “The Stickers Man”, 69, of Sparta, IL died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at Friendship Manor in Nashville, IL. He was born March 28, 1948 in Sparta, IL, to Ray and Pearl (Chism)McIntyre.

On June 17, 1972, he married Dorothy B. Schuetz in Sparta. She Survives.

He was a Corrections Officer at Menard Prison in Chester, IL for 30 years. James was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sparta where he was a decan for many years. He had a sticker ministry from 1990 to 2015. He loves his family, fishing, cutting grass, word search books and puzzles. He loved playing board games with Kathy and playing spike and malice with friend Matt Simonton.

He is survived by son Rich (Melinda) McIntyre; nephew John Mounce; niece Kathy Schuetz; one brother Bill (Judy) McIntyre; nieces, nephews, one step grandson, several great nieces and great nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, niece Becky Howe, Sister Barb Mounce and Brother Allen McIntyre.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Sparta, IL, with Pastor Tim Gregory officiating

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Sparta, IL and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until the hour of service at the Church

Interment will be at Caledonia Cemetery
