Doris Krull Thomson, mother, doctor, traveler, died March 16, 2018. She was born in Sparta in 1933 to Frances and Edward Krull of Sparta. Mom followed her dream to become a physician, graduating at the top of her medical school class in 1970. She cared for patients in seven states and the countries of Haiti, Mexico, and Uganda before she returned to Sparta and served at the Chester Mental Health Center.
She is survived by her daughters Cynthia Warner and Katherine Umali and her son Edward Thomson, grandchildren Isabel and Caroline Umali and Jonathon Joshua Warner, and her sister Shirley Barbel. Mom was an inspiration, teaching us the meaning of love, caring, and service.
Services will be held at McDaniel & Lee Family Funeral Home in Sparta at 10 am on Saturday March 24.
Visitation hours are from 6 to 8 pm on Friday March 23, and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the Funeral Home
